After booking your wedding experience with me, one of the things we will start talking about first will be your Engagement Session. Now I ask my couples to think of locations that mean something to them or just to think outside of the box. I am going to tell you now that I am all for travel!! I am happy to travel for your session, because I love shooting in places I don’t get to shoot all the time. Adriane and Charlie choose to have their session in Cresent City, California. They wanted to have a mixture of the Redwoods and the beach. This Cresent City engagement session was unlike any engagement session I have done so far. The Redwood location we used is Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park.

When driving to the our first location in the Redwoods, we made the mistake of not exchanging vehicles or pictures. I only had the pleasure of speaking with Adriane over the phone, and cell service was very spotty. We actually passed one another driving in the redwoods when looking for the parking area for the trail. I had a gut feeling it was them when we made eye contact as we passed one another. I turned around and we instantly knew when we started to chat it was them.

The first trail we hiked, ended up being the wrong one. We were able to capture a few shots, but it was not the beautiful location you see above. We planned for a lot of extra time, so we weren’t worried about light. We were able to walk back out and go onto the right trail to find the open area we see above. For the second location we drove down into Cresent City and took photos right at sunset on the beach. The golden hour glow is always my favorite. Now I can’t wait for my next Cresent City Engagement Session.

How They Met

Adriane and Charlie have a unique love story. Shortly after meeting and seeing one another, they found out they were pregnant. They decided they weren’t going to date and be together, but they were going to co-parent and bring a beautiful baby into the world. After showing how amazing a father he could be Adriane started to fall for Charlie. We joked that this was his plan all along to make Adriane fall for him. From here their love only grew and blossomed. Now after this time, they are finally getting married. I can’t wait to capture their summer wedding this next June.
