Mayela and Damian spring maternity session in Chico, CA was a dream. I began speaking with Mayela through facebook messenger as she was narrowing her search for a photographer. I was so honored when Mayela and Damian choose me to capture this chapter of their lives. After the two fo them officially booked the session we began discussing locations. Mayela was up for anything, but thought capturing some in the almond blossoms would be AMAZING!! I was worried I wouldn’t be able to make that happen for them since the session was taking place a week after the last of the trees were in bloom. I decided to go scout the almond orchard I shoot in and see if there were any trees still in bloom.

One tree was still in full bloom in the middle of the orchard….

I couldn’t believe it. I was so excited to let her know that we would be able to capture some almond blossom photos before heading to our second location in Upper Bidwell Park. Seeing Upper Park this green makes me want to do another spring maternity session before the greenery is gone. On the day of the session Mayela was glowing. The two of them had so much joy in these moments before they officially become a family of three. They were so much fun the entire session. I can tell they are going to be wonderful parents. Their little girl is so lucky to have the two of them waiting for her. It will be such a joy to capture the three of them at their next family session.

When we arrived at Upper Bidwell Park we found the perfect green field with the sunset glow coming through the trees. It couldn’t have been a more perfect spot to end the session with. Click here to learn more about a session with me.
