Korean Paebaek Ceremony

Do you remember Janet + Matt’s wedding back in September? If not, you can check out their wedding here. Well this is their Korean Paebaek ceremony that took place the day before their wedding. This type of ceremony typically takes place during, but due to Janet + Matt not living locally, they modernized it to be before so they could have everyone participate.

It was so special to be a part of this celebration in addition to their wedding day. I love witnessing different cultural celebrations. It is amazing to learn and witness the excitement during these times. Janet + Matt are an amazing duo and they have become friends to me. I can’t wait to photograph more of their special moments. This next year I will be photographing their family when they come back to visit and I can’t wait to see them.

What is a Korean Paebaek Ceremony?

This type of ceremony is a ceremony joining the two families together. Traditionally it takes place after the wedding to symbolize, but like I mentioned above, Janet and Matt modernized it to take place before while everyone was there.
