PJ’s mom reached out to me to capture her daughters Saratoga baby shower. This was the first Saratoga Baby Shower I have captured. If I can I like to fill my calendar with a couple things I don’t normally do. Being able to do something like this helps me keep the creative flow and keep my mind fresh. I think I could say, I have never learned so much from a baby shower. I was able to learn traditions from their culture and it was so beautiful. The outfits were beautiful and everything just felt so rich in culture and tradition. Having a baby is a beautiful thing. It is a precious addition to your family. I am so excited for PJ and Corey as they welcome their newest addition to their family.
During the baby shower they performed one of the baby shower traditions in their culture. Upon my research I found this tradition is called “Godh bharai”. As explained by PJ’s mom, it is to bless the mother and father to be as well as the baby. A plate is filled with multiple items. Some of those items are coconuts, water/oil, rice, etc. Each person walks up and will then come up to each the mom and father to be and bless them.
Their aunt ended with singing a traditional song in their native language. She did a wonderful job and was just and amazing thing to do. I have never been at a baby shower like this and it was something great to witness and experience. The couple has now welcomed their baby boy and is starting the new chapter of their lives.
This Saratoga baby shower was definitely one for the books. Are you interested in having your event captured? Complete the contact form and let’s chat!.
